Community Resource Managers as well as other Redwood Coast Regional Center staff offer training and support to service providers in a variety of areas. Technical assistance begins when a potential service provider approaches Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC) to offer services by working with potential service providers to determine if they are able to meet identified, unmet consumer needs. Working in collaboration with providers, a plan is developed to assist the service provider in strengthening their vision. This support may look at how consumers reach goals and dreams, to build service provider capacities, to deliver services effectively, to manage their resources and to involve the community.
Technical assistance includes a wide variety of potential support and training issues. Typically these encompass five (5) areas: business plan/ service design development, regulation interpretation, clinical implications, community impact and fiscal sustainability. The provision of training and technical assistance is an important ongoing element of service development and delivery.
