As service\nproviders for children\, we may encounter parents struggling with\nmental health issues\, high levels of stress\, the impact of\ntrauma\, or their own developmental disability. These issues can\nmake it challenging for parents to meet the complex needs of\ntheir children. Sometimes it’s difficult for providers to know\nhow best to support a family when one or both parents are in\nneed of their own support.\nIn this Provider Academy our presenter\, Dr. Barbara Sprout\, will\nexplore some of the family dynamics that service providers may\nencounter when working with caregivers – and provide tips on\nperson-centered strategies for building relationships\, addressing\nbarriers\, and engaging with parents to implement those self-care\nskills that foster healthier families and will help their children\nthrive. \nDr. Sprout is director of CBEM Ukiah\, serving Lake and Mendocino County. CBEM is a vendor of\nRCRC and provides crisis services and individualized supports to clients of RCRC with the purpose\nof preventing and managing a crisis and to empower people to maximize their potential. \n  \n  \n  \n
