We will only use your information for the purposes it was collected, such as providing our services and enhancing your experience with us. What Do We NOT Use Your Information For?
Mobile Opt-In, SMS consent and phone numbers collected for SMS communication purposes will not be shared with third parties and affiliates for marketing purposes.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to ensure the safety of your personal data. These measures include secured networks and encryption to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.
Do We Disclose Any Information to Outside Parties?

Your Consent
We will only communicate with you via SMS messaging if you explicitly state it as one of your preferred methods of communication on the Intake application, or if you message your Service Coordinator first.
If you wish to stop receiving communication via SMS messaging, please notify your Service Coordinator via SMS message, phone call, or email. We may update these guidelines as needed. Any changes will be posted on our website with the updated effective date.
Any changes to guidelines will apply only to information collected after the date of the change. RCRC aims to maintain transparency about how we handle your information and uphold your privacy rights.
SMS Terms & Conditions
RCRC is part of a network of 21 regional centers across California, dedicated to serving 30 cities within the Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, and Lake counties. As a private, non-profit organization, we operate in collaboration with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, with a mission to deliver essential services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, such as: intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and other closely related conditions to an intellectual disability.
SMS Consent Communication
SMS consent and phone numbers are never shared with any third parties or affiliates for any reason, including marketing purposes.
Types of SMS Communications
Your phone number will only be used for the specific purpose you have consented to, such as booking appointments, messaging your service coordinator, or updates to previous communication. We do not use your number for unsolicited marketing.
If you’d like to opt out from future communications via SMS messages, please reply with “STOP”. We respect your privacy and will promptly stop further communication with you via SMS.
Message Frequency
Message frequency may vary depending on the type of communication. For example, up to 1 SMS message per month may be received related to appointments.
Potential Fees for SMS Messaging:
Standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier’s pricing plan. These fees may vary if the message is sent domestically or internationally.
Opt-In Methods:
To opt-in to receive SMS messages from RCRC, you may send a text message or email to your Service Coordinator’s phone number or email address on their business card, letters, or email signature lines.
Opt-Out Methods:
To opt out to receiving SMS messages from RCRC you may reply “STOP” to any SMS message received. Alternatively, direct contact can be made by sending a text message or email to your Service Coordinator’s phone number or email address on their business card, letters, or email signature lines.
